On 28 April 2026, DANSER was represented at the EcoDaLLi Legacy Event “From Living Labs to Policy and Practice” in Ruse, Bulgaria, bringing together researchers, policymakers, institutions and investors working towards a more sustainable Danube and Black Sea region.
The event focused on translating the objectives of the EU Mission “Restore our Ocean and Waters” into practical action, with particular attention to stronger cross-border cooperation, innovation, technology transfer and stakeholder engagement.

Within this wider exchange, DANSER’s contribution to sustainable sediment management and river restoration in the Danube Basin was highlighted, reinforcing synergies with other Mission Ocean initiatives and related projects working across the Lower Danube.
Discussions also underlined the importance of closer cooperation between Romania and Bulgaria, as well as the need to connect scientific knowledge with policy development and local implementation. Regional stakeholders were recognised as key actors in shaping effective recommendations and supporting the uptake of innovative solutions.
Participation in the EcoDaLLi Legacy Event strengthened DANSER’s links with the wider Mission Ocean community and supported continued dialogue between science, policy and practice around the future of the Danube River Basin.
