On 9 September 2025, DANSER was represented at EUGEO 2025 in Vienna, Austria, a major European geography congress held under the theme “Geographies of a Changing Europe”.
The congress explored the transformations shaping Europe’s landscapes and societies, bringing together researchers working across a wide range of geographical and spatial perspectives.
Ronald Pöppl from BOKU University presented “DANube SEdiment Restoration (DANSER): Towards deployment and upscaling of sustainable sediment management across the Danube River Basin – The Upper Danube case” during Session 148. The presentation highlighted DANSER’s work in the Upper Danube and its contribution to advancing sustainable sediment management across the wider river basin.
Participation in the congress increased DANSER’s visibility among researchers and helped foster new connections, knowledge exchange and potential synergies with related work in geography, river basin management and environmental research.
