DANSER at the 45th Conference of the International Association for Danube Research

On 10 April 2025, DANSER was represented at the 45th Conference of the International Association for Danube Research (IAD) in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Bringing together researchers from across disciplines, the conference focused on innovative solutions and cooperation to protect and restore biodiversity and ecosystems in the Danube River Basin.

Ronald Pöppl from BOKU University presented DANSER’s Upper Danube DEMO activities, introducing the project’s work to the IAD research community and highlighting its contribution to freshwater ecosystem restoration and sustainable river basin management.

The presentation helped raise awareness of DANSER among researchers working across the Danube region, while also opening opportunities for further engagement, knowledge exchange and synergies with related scientific initiatives.

Participation in the conference strengthened DANSER’s connection with the wider Danube research community and supported dialogue around shared challenges and solutions for healthier and more resilient freshwater ecosystems.
